Sometimes, something silly is all you need.

Didn't expect to like from the look of it. I didn't like the animation style for something like this, still don't, and he doesn't remind me much of Dante from any of the games, but the thing is, I enjoy his character anyway. He did let a strawberry sundae fall on the floor though, what's up with that? They could have just animated him catching it. The guy does all the things he does, but let his sundae go to waste? Disgraceful. So yeah, not Dante, but very enjoyable mc nonetheless.

Kevin Conroy is in this somehow. I was very surprised when I heard Batman talking. He died back in 2022, and through a miracle, or production delay, we get to listen to him one last time.

The writing is stupid, but they went all in on it being stupid, so it ends up fun. While it's overall bad, it works when it should, if that makes sense.

And the action is good, that's about it. It may not be the DMC you wanted, knew, or expected, but it does bring a similar energy.

First half is the horror/sci fi part, and the second half is straight up comedy. Not unintentional comedy mind you, they are very much trying to be funny.

I thought it was so much better than the first film, which was a silly movie being serious. This was a silly movie being silly. Here, about an hour into the movie, they go to Fun Island, which very much lives up to its name.

I genuinely recommend this movie, I really found it funny. Even the horror part was pretty decent, and the two completely antithetical tones of the movie do not class very much, because they never overlap. The turning point is the introduction of the bad guys (yes, this movie has bad guys), and then it goes completely off the rails. You think to yourself: "Wait a minute, these comical villains do not fit the movie at all", but it turns out they do actually.
