Brandy Menefee is a freelance writer, producer, director, and editor with a journalism background who specializes in sensitive subject matter and mental health storytelling.

She interviews people with lived experience about their mental health challenges, and presents their authentic voices and stories for TV, film, digital & print.

Whether it's a true crime or biography series, a reality show with a miscarriage story arc, a feature-length mental health documentary, casting videos, digital media campaigns, non-profit content, PSAs or her own blog -- Brandy brings a high level of mental health expertise, insight and sensitivity to every conversation, every edit, every project.

As a seasoned interviewer, documentarian, and storyteller, she has profiled trauma survivors (including military veterans and victims of kidnapping & sex trafficking), humans in their final stages of life, women giving birth, young people navigating their mental disorders, couples grieving pregnancy & infant loss, communities in mourning, and she has sat in a remote African village and discussed struggle & suicide with strangers using a Swahili translator.

Brandy's other production achievements include documenting life-saving rats in Africa, being embedded with storm chasers, directing, shooting & editing a sizzle reel that sold a TV series, photographing Morgan Freeman & Tommy Lee Jones on set of their movie, and directing Channing Tatum in tear-away pants.
