- His wife is a teacher, and they have two daughters: Daisy, born in 1996 and Holly, born in 2001.

- During the Penseive sequence of Harry Potter y las Reliquias de la Muerte: Parte 2 (2011), there is a flashback (archive footage of Harry Potter y la piedra filosofal (2001) is shown) of Severus Snape listening to Professor Quirrell (an uncredited Hart with his face turned away). This appearance makes Hart the only cast member to only appear in the first and last "Harry Potter" films.
