(1991) Nana Patekar had written a script about a politician (Amitabh Bachchan) and his mentally challenged younger brother (Kamal Hassan). The film was titled "Yagna" and Nana Patekar was going to direct the film. The movie was dropped when Amitabh decided Khuda Gawah would be his last release.

(2008) Anees Bazmee was supposed to make comedy for UTV titled "No Problem" with Ajay Devgan, Nana Patekar and Riteish Deshmukh. It got shelved. Later the same title was used for another Anees Bazmee film.

(1993) Vishesh Films" shelved venture project film titled "Mumbai Meri Jaan" ; Starring :- Akshay Kumar , Divya Bharti (later replaced by Ayesha Jhulka) Nana Patekar , Chunkey Pandey , Vijay Shukla & Krishna Kumar. ; Produced by - Mukesh Bhatt. ; Written & Directed by : Mahesh Bhatt. ; but the film got shelved.

(2004) Nana Patekar was to turn director for a Ram Gopal Varma production titled "Jumman". Nana was playing the role of a butcher and was going to shave his head. It was to be a musical film and the focus was to be on the folk music of Maharashtra. The project was for unknown reasons called off.

(1991) Nana Patekar had written a beautiful script about a politician (Amitabh Bachchan) and his mentally challenged younger brother (Kamal Hassan). The film was titled "Yagya" and Nana Patekar was going to direct the film.There were plans to also sign Dimple Kapadia and Madhuri Dixit. The movie was dropped when Amitabh decided Khuda Gawah would be his last release. Nana had plans to restart the film with himself in the lead in 2001. All plans were once again dropped

(2001) Nana Patekar was in discussion for a film titled "Ramanan". He stated " I may also be doing a Malayalam film based on the life of the famous Malayalee poet C.K Pillai and his friend E. Raghavan Pillai, who committed suicide after a failed love affair at 23. "Ramanan' is C.K. Pillai's eulogy to his friend. Pillai was the Keats of Kerala. And it is uncanny that he looks exactly like me. Of course he too died tragically in his 30s.". The project later was called off.

(1987) Starred in the shelved film Malhotra Films "Zameen". Starring Vinod Khanna,Sridevi, Sanjay Dutt,Madhuri Dixit(Replaced Amrita Singh),Rajnikanth, Sujata Mehta,Anupam Kher, Paresh Rawal (Previously Naseeruddin Shah was doing the role but he exited out as he wanted to play lead role's. Then Nana Patekar was signed be he too left for unknown reason's.) Music by Laxmikant Pyarelal.Produced by Sures

(2007) Starred in the shelved movie "Network". Sangeeth Sivan stated "another thriller with Nana titled 'Network.' The film is about a relationship between a man and his cell phone. It should require just a 30 days shooting schedule.""Are there any traces of 'Phone Booth?" one asks. "No, not at all," he says, 'Network' is an absolutely original film and is a complete drift from the kind of work I have done. The film actually deals with how a cell phone becomes the cause of this character's death."

(1994) Starred in shelved untitled film produced by SmitaTalwalkar, Directed by Sanjay Surkar. The project was to be based on Marathi novel "Manoos". Nana was to play a rickshaw driver.
