As a member of the main cast, he is the first man to play an ADA on Ley y orden: Unidad de Víctimas Especiales (1999).

His family was all born in Cuba, but he was born in the United States. He considers himself Cuban-American.

One of only a handful of actors to have received 4 nominations for Broadway Tony Awards in just 5 years, 3 of which were consecutive, and all of which were for both plays and musicals.
