Amir Moini is an award-winning horror writer and director from Boston, Massachusetts, whose work is known to push boundaries within the horror genre, blending nuanced representation with stylized storytelling. After leading video editorial at Netflix for 7 years, he went on to direct the horror short film Slashr, which premiered at Screamfest in 2023 and has since been showcased at over 25 festivals across 12 countries. Amir is currently working on a feature-length rendition of his short film and a recent program participant in Ryan Murphy's Half Initiative directors program. He also has directed an episode of television for the show Sub/liminal set to premiere later this year on Nebula.
Beyond filmmaking, Amir has served on juries for festivals such as FilmQuest and Queer Screams Film Festival. He is also a member of the Motion Picture & Television Fund (MPTF) and a new board member for Outfest.
