Chris Philip, an Executive Producer and international television executive with experience in development, packaging, production, business affairs, global strategy and distribution, has served as President and Executive Producer at studio Starlings TV since its formation in 2018.
Philip is currently executive-producing Peacock Original series Departure starring Christopher Plummer and Archie Panjabi, and The CW sci-fi series Pandora. Both have been picked up for second seasons. Previous credits include executive producing two NBC primetime scripted drama series, the critically-acclaimed Siberia and Crusoe, starring Philip Winchester; and securing distribution rights to John Malkovich's NBC pirate drama series, Crossbones.
He also served as an EP on the syndicated series SAF3, starring Dolph Lundgren, for Tribune Broadcasting; co-created Deep Undercover (with 52 episodes currently streaming on Netflix); and co-produced Colibritany, a series of digital properties that achieved nearly 100 million views on YouTube.
Having launched his career as a Vice President at ITC/PolyGram Television, which was later acquired by Universal, Philip remained with the major Hollywood studio for 13 years until leaving to lead the UK's Power Television as President. He later co-founded Engine Entertainment - later sold to Philip's longtime producing collaborator Ben Silverman. Philip most recently served as Head of Production at Televisa USA.
Among his long list of credits, Philip has sold and developed multiple scripted series to NBC, Hulu, CW, Netflix, TNT, Starz, WGN, BYUTV, ABC, Corus, and Lifetime, and partnered with various studios including Lionsgate, MGM, Gaumont, Universal Cable Productions, Propagate Content, POW, and A&E, and with international studios such as ZDFE, RTR, Eccho Rights, NBC International Networks, Televisa, CJ Entertainment, Sony International, Kansai, Nordic Entertainment Group, Mediawan and Red Arrow.
