Renowned for his heartfelt storytelling, Genwaii was born in 1975 in Bangkok, Thailand. With over 20 years of experience in the film industry, Genwaii has curated a diverse portfolio spanning short films, documentaries, TV series, independent films, and mainstream feature-film productions.
His directorial debut, "The Happiness of Kati" (2009), an adaptation of the SEA Write award-winning novel, garnered international recognition and was an official selection at the Fukuoka International Film Festival and the 14th Busan Film Festival in 2009. As a director, Genwaii achieved fame with "Banlang-dokmai" (2017), starring Mario Maurer and Jarinporn Junkiat.
Genwaii's passion for mass media communication led him to graduate with honors from the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication at Thammasat University, majoring in cinematography and photography, and to earn a master's degree in Film from Kasem Bundit University.
His short film "Me" (1998) was recognized with the prestigious Kun Vijit Matra Award at the 3rd Thai Film Foundation's film contest in 1999. Additionally, his documentary "True Friend" (1997) received the Rajot Samer award for Best Short Film at the 2nd Bangkok Film Festival in the same year.
Genwaii began his professional journey in 2000 as a show creative at Music Train Co., Ltd. and progressed to the role of assistant director at Workpoint Entertainment Co., Ltd. In 2005, he assumed the position of production supervisor at Saha Mongkol Film International.
To date, Genwaii has made significant contributions as a producer, overseeing the production of acclaimed Thai films and TV series such as "REDLIFE" (2023), "5th Round" (2024), and "Terror Tuesday: Extreme" (2024) on Netflix.
Furthermore, Genwaii shares his expertise as a Professor and Special Film Lecturer, teaching film theory, techniques, and advanced production at both public and private universities. He continues to offer his services as a film distribution consultant and serves as a committee member of the Thai Film Director Association, contributing to the advancement of the Thai film industry.
