Born and raised in Detroit, Michael received a BS in Film and BBA in Business Administration from Grand Valley State University. When offered the choice to sell car insurance or make movies for a living, he shockingly chose to make movies.
At the age of 23, he was the youngest filmmaker in the state of Michigan to direct a tax credit awarded feature film. Over the next five years, he produced a number of films such as The Listing (2015), King Ripple (2015), The Wolf Who Cried Boy (2016), Tommy Battles the Silver Sea Dragon (2018), Andrea Doria: Are the Passengers Saved? (2018), and Ovid and the Art of Love (2019).
He has directed and produced commercial content for clients like Shinola, Pure Michigan, Ford Motor Co., S2 Games, State Farm, Philadelphia 76ers, Detroit Renegades, Dreamhack, Warner Brothers, PepsiCo, and others. Michael also has delved into new media storytelling as Head of Video Production at DBLTAP, leading a team to develop a Youtube channel with millions of views to date. He has produced VR/360 content for Fortune 50 companies.
He recently directed The Telephone Game, a documentary about the world of ideas. He also is co-producing an untitled thriller and producing a music documentary.
