Gil Troy, a native of Queens, New York, is a Professor of History at McGill University, specializing in the modern American presidency. The award-winning author of eleven books, he has appeared on most major TV networks as a political commentator and in history documentaries, including CNN's The Eighties and the National Geographic Channel's The '80s: The Decade that Made Us. He is the author of The Age of Clinton: America in the 1990s, just published by Thomas Dunne Books of St. Martin's Press. Other books include Morning in America: How Ronald Reagan Invented the 1980s, See How They Ran: the Changing Role of the Presidential Candidate, Mr. and Mrs. President: From the Trumans to the Clintons, and Moynihan's Moment: America's Fight against Zionism as Racism. In 2012 he updated the classic encyclopedia first edited by Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr. and Fred Israel, The History of American Presidential Elections. He has published articles in The New York Times, Time, Politico, the Washington Post, and other major media outlets.
