Every show is the same. They make a giant version of something. The host takes a bite. The hosts says "who's hungry?" They show people eating normal-sized servings cut from the big whatever.
So what? It's a big sandwich. A big pizza, A big hamburger. A big taco.
So what?
From the reaction of the patrons, none of them have ever seen the big whatever being touted. My guess is that the entire thing is a fake, just for the TV show.
Bottom line: P.U.

Been following Denny's work for awhile now, and I can say that he absolutely deserves this show. His standup (usually very dark) is hilarious and he's a fantastic host here, because, despite having to be very PG, he still comes across as wry and sarcastic and entertaining. All in all it's very fun to watch and pretty different than other food shows, as it's much more engaged with the people of each city, which is very cool to see.
High recommend.

I have been a longtime fan of Food Network. I was absolutely delighted when they introduced the iron chef to America. Their game shows are fun and inventive. But this show I don't know how to characterize how bad it is. The Food Network has had some terrible shows, but this is the worst of the worst. The host is aggressively unfunny. His attempts at humor are crass and juvenile. I don't know how he was able to get a show in the first place. It's simply baffling. He has no idea what he's doing. He has no rapport with the people he talks to. He is stilted, boring and trite. Do yourself a favor and avoid this show like the plague.
Spent 20 minutes typing a rebuttal to the other review, then decided someone who doesn't get the underlying subtlety of the show isn't worth arguing with. Yeah, it's new, so there will be kinks to work out. But it's an easy watch, and I find Josh genuine and likable. Guy wasn't flawless when DDD started either, and he's a food pro. (Heck, when Drew Carey took over Price is Right, he looked frightened and ready to wet himself. Now he's found his grove and owns it.) I wasn't sold on a comic doing a show like this, but one episode shows that Josh makes it work. There are subtle *wink wink nudge nudge* moments that I think he puts in for his own laughs as much as ours... Sit back, relax, and watch a funny guy who likes food go to cool places and find really REALLY big stuff, and then, unlike MvF, generously share it with everyone. (Bitten parts excluded. Really.)
