Murderers and Their Mothers

Someone please strip the psychologist in the Adam Lanza story of her credentials. Special education is not a "stigma." Do not blame what he did because he had developmental delays And do not blame his mother. Wtf.

Disappointing, flimsy reasoning behind conclusion, and bad journalism. It looks like the writer decided on something and made all the information fit into it. I found it tedious to watch due to the lack of connection between logic and conclusion. There's no clear train of thought that leads to a sound conclusion of what is being claimed.

One episode in and they're talking about a mom who was loving and took care of the family (after the children's father abandoned them), and there's no abuse from her AT ALL, but somehow they're trying to frame it as though her son murdering her is HER fault! Also, why do they keep saying "blue-eyed boy" even though 1. he's a grown man (21 years old!) and 2. his eye color doesn't matter at all? I see what they're doing, and it's gross. They also manage to blame "violent video games." No accountability for grown offenders means that more grown offenders will feel entitled and not responsible. There ARE cases in which a person's relationship with their mother affects their personality, BUT at the end of the day, they CHOOSE to hurt and/or kill, and that choice has everything to do with the individual.

This show has a VERY particular type of person in mind as its audience, and I know it's not me. I'm done.

Why I sought out this series was for an understanding of how these murderers' lives & upbringing may be different from a normal persons & may have contributed to how they developed such a disregard for human life & a desire to kill. There is evidence that a person's mother plays a significant role in one's perception & how one adjusts to life (especially in regards to serial killers), but just as important is the father. While the main focus here is on the mother; there are hints to the father being a damaging affect on the person as well. The result though, is that naturally the child develops an unnatural attachment to the mother & suffers a rejection by the father. Let's not underemphasize the significance of this by arguing that "the mother's aren't to blame". Of course no mother is taught how to mother, even so, they will affect their child & it's important to see how mother's may have behaved in these cases.

This show is just another way to blame women for the crimes of men.
