Queen's Gambit

I know nothing about chess, but found the series really compelling. I wanted to see how all the tournaments turned out and to follow this unique character wherever she might want to go.

Don't let the title or synopsis fool you, this one is about far more than a few games of chess. You will go on a thrilling ride with Beth as she battles through adolescence and addiction while nurturing a powerful gift in her ability to play chess with the best players in the entire world. I enjoyed every single episode of this series, but the end actually brought me to tears. After that, it was deserving of a rare 10 rating for me because I can't think of a way to have made it any better. I'm actually nervous about the new season more than I am excited because I don't want it to disappoint after such an incredible Season 1. I can't wait to read the book next, I just ordered it immediately after the last episode finished.
