The games art style is really punching a bonds its weight. It looks like they took the original 90s graphics and made it 3D but it's still looks like it. It's so well done.
And it searchely much easier to play than the original, I can tell you that but it inherits a lot of IT problems because it's so faithful.
It's unbelievable how much the game looks like their original level design, it's how they put it over but didn't make it feel like a clunky early 3D game it's kind of amazing.
I am more in the BioShock camp and I really like how that game trimmed the fed and make it a lot more enjoyable, this game is way more in the fat department and it doesn't really feel fun to play in the moment to moment for me, so if you are after the fat you're gonna have a good time, but if you are BioShock enjoy, you're not gonna enjoy it.

I played the System Shock remake last year and it's impressive. Too bad I forgot about it.
Same great gameplay but there are caveats. For one, players cannot mantle on furniture or anything like in the first one. I hope they updated this game because I experienced glitches out of the wazoo. There was one time I got stuck in a room and couldn't leave the stupid cyborg regeneration chamber. But still players can listen to audio logs, become scared, shoot, lean, hack, solve puzzles, go through cyberspace. Citadel station is so open and huge it's easy to get lost!
There are so many weapons and fauxs to choose from. But rush not, our player character will lose wind quickly.
The graphics where a big step up. They aren't overly pixelated. They are still pixelated but you see you have a full 3D world with fully 3D graphics and enemies. Very shiny and high poly full of special effects but I feel like any realism was lost in this remake. In the original it felt more grounded because was is our play character flipping off people and stuff? What's with all these sassy animations? I miss feeling like a Rescue ranger.
The music in this game is gone. There is none more of it. Just vague atmosphere. That's nice but I miss the campy music.
Anyway, you still get the same fun video game from 30 years ago. Oh Jeez.

This is an amazing game. Wile the original version was revolutionary, this remake makes that original game actually playable. I remember playing this game when it came out in 96, and it was clunky. It was too hard to play, so I skipped it. However, when I tried the remake, it simply blew me away. It took me 38 hours to complete the full game, and I absolutely enjoyed it. Highly recommended. Compares to some other top level titles, I can wholeheartedly say that I enjoyed this game more. This game does not want to teach you anything, there is no morality lectures, or any forcing of trendy ideas and such. It is just a great game and that's it.
