I Love You

... thus it is impossible to rate. There is currently a very good synopsis associated with this entry, so I won't repeat it here, other than to say that it sounds very melodramatic. Armand, the husband, is played by Wheeler "Take Him For a Ride" Oakman, who costarred in the very first all talking feature film in 1928 - "Lights of New York". That was probably the biggest role in the most famous film he ever had. And yet here he does not play the villain, for which he was famous doing.

The lead actress, Felice, was played by Alma Rubins, who would have had no trouble getting leads had she not had a drug habit that ruined her health and caused her early death. Rubins played Julie in the 1929 part talking version of Showboat, but this is a much smaller part than in the later two versions.

The film has a unique way of committing murder/suicide - Felice, rejected by her husband who thinks her unfaithful, kisses her child who has the plague, then seeks the man who is the cause of the break up of her home and kisses him, thus killing him with the plague. And yet she and the child survive. Funny how the plague worked in motion pictures.

The film was produced by Triangle film corporation, which produced some of Douglas Fairbanks' films, but ultimately had a short life and was dissolved by the 1920s.

The film was directed by Walter Edwards who, though prolific - he directed 49 feature films - I am not sure that a single film directed by him survives. He is so obscure he is erroneously labeled on this site as in the cast of the documentary "Driving While Black: Race, Space and Mobility in America", in 2020 100 years after his death. This must be wrong. I'm sure the cast and crew of the documentary would have noticed a zombie roaming about the set.
