    Come Back Alfie...sorry Peter.

Alfie with more sex was the selling point...but not enough sex as after it's first release it had extra scenes cut in. Badly. Very Badly.

The Nucleus DVD contains the longest cut seen in the UK.

Christopher Matthews is bland as Peter slipping from conquest to conquest without a hint of plot (The end does give this an explanation but no spoilers).

The most notable things are Mary & Madeleine Collinson in an Lesbian scene - yes, they ARE sisters...Incest - a game for the family.

The added scenes don't fit as the hairy arse is so obviously not Matthews and how they got away with the semi aroused penis (I presume it wasn't in any UK cut till now) - The twins extra scenes take it from mildly dodgy to full on oh dear.

Unless like me your interested in the British Sexplotation era it's a hard watch.

About as unerotic as it gets...

SOME LIKE IT SEXY is a very cheap, exploitation cash-in on the success of Michael Caine's ALFIE, featuring Christopher Matthews as a young stud who services his way through a number of willing women in Swinging Sixties London. There's little more story to it than that, other than a handful of stylistic twists, making this feel like a precursor to the Robin Askwith CONFESSIONS series although with even less of a storyline.

It's an amateurish production throughout which feels rather tame even for its era. The original film's title was COME BACK PETER until director Donovan Winters saw fit to re-release it years later by changing the title and adding in some more explicit sex scenes involving ludicrous-looking body doubles. These repellent moments are the worst part of the film, featuring close-up shots of a thrusting and hairy male backside which a) looks nothing like Matthews in the long shots we do see of him, and b) is sure to put you right off your cornflakes.

Sadly, SOME LIKE IT SEXY is a pretty terrible production, only of minor interest to connoisseurs of the cult. It's never even vaguely erotic despite most of the women who appear willing to go naked. The sex scenes are repetitive and boring, and the acting, to put it bluntly, sucks. Christopher Matthews went on to THE SCARS OF Dracula after this and was marginally less wooden, but he really is terrible here. Hammer fans may be interested to see the Collinson twins (Mary and Madeleine) in an uneasy and near-incestuous threesome scene and a brief turn from an ultra-thin Madeline Smith, before she filled out for her role in THE VAMPIRE LOVERS. She's virtually unrecognisable in her cameo here. Other than some decent pop songs on the soundtrack and some outrageous fashions, SOME LIKE IT SEXY has little of worth.

    Swinging Sixties exploitation piece

Former actor Donovan Winter chose the comedy genre for his directing debut in 1960, but his follow-up feature, a nudist movie entitled World Without Shame was more a sign of things to come. Winter really came into his own in the Seventies with a string of British exploitation movies for his own Donwin company of which The Deadly Females (1976) is his warped masterpiece. Some Like it Sexy, the first Donwin production was according to its creator his version of Alfie with more sex. Likewise Some Like it Sexy aka Come Back Peter tells of a womanizing Cockney (the Peter of the original title) and his mostly successful attempts to woo a succession of laughably stereotyped women, a model, a hippie chick, a black girl, a toff housewife, twins, a Swedish au pair etc. Unfortunately apart from some brief soul searching towards the end it's hardly in the same league as Alfie, today its seems more of a primitive blueprint for the likes of Confessions of a Window Cleaner, Adventures of a Taxi Driver et al. Still while it offers few plot revelations Some like it Sexy is curiously watchable due to its rough hand held camera approach to filmmaking, endless attempts to wed nearly all the action with the title song (plus some surprising top 40 material) and many nostalgic London locales. There's even some low rent surrealism- most noteworthy is the way Peter's conquests are inter cut with scenes of meat being cut up, for some dubious un-pc symbolism. Fans of Hammer films will no doubt be aghast to find twin sisters Mary and Madeleine Collinson the stars of Twins of Evil in some fairly scandalous scenes. There's much kitsch value as well with the unavoidable mindbending LSD sequence and Winter's dedicated follower of fashion, rivaling Austin Powers in his choice of Carnaby Street fashions. The film wasn't released until two years after it was made, apparently in its original version it was not explicit enough and Winter had to shoot some crude `sexy' inserts using very obvious body doubles to ensure a sale. In 1971 the film finally saw a release double billed with another sexploitation movie called All about Women (196?). As a swinging Sixties exploitation piece Some Like it Sexy isn't half bad. Still historically its less `how it all was' and more like wishful thinking (quite literally in the final black and white sequence) on the part of slimy bachelors.

Some like story with their sexy

Headlining this appreciative Brritish T and A exploitation piece, with "Walking Down The Street" our stud Casanova, bearing presents for each of his ladies, not always the ones he intended the presents for, including a non lady, what is the whole point of this movie? Intriguing it is, through the sexual imaginations of our Peter, one meeting, which for me, turns predictably nasty, this is just an eye candy feature, one moment, bordering on an X rating moment. Not saying this isn't impressive, but I was expecting story. The regular meat cutting clips conveyed to me, the women for Peter were just pieces of meat. But who knows what is going on through Peter' s head. The ending, one of painful disillusion. Just really good expolitation, with slight humour, some real tenderness and presnts Nothing more.

    No one likes it boring

This is a pretty lame British sex comedy about a young lothario who drives around in his car and unaccountably manages to seduce a whole bunch of women (it is kind of suggested eventually that the whole thing is just his fantasy, which frankly makes a whole lot more sense). Being set in 1960's London this movie has a little bit of kitsch value, even though it is nowhere near in the class of "Cool It, Carol", "Goodbye Gemini", or its two most obvious models--"Blow Up" and "Alfie".

Most of the film is pretty tame and boring, and they even use obvious body doubles for most of the nude scenes even though there almost are no name actresses in the cast except for Madeline Smith (who is not one of the conquests but plays the pretty young daughter of one). The exception to this is the infamous Collinson twins (later in "Twins of Evil")who not only do their own nudity, but appear together in a surprisingly graphic lesbian sex scene! For me the whole twin fantasy is already pretty weird to begin with (and it unfortunately anticipates the supposedly sexy clichés of recent idiotic beer commercials and dumbass "lad" magazines like "Maxim"), and here it's taken to perverse lengths. Still the naked charms of the Collinson twins are probably worth the queasiness of this scene, but they are definitely NOT worth enduring the rest of this stupid movie.

In 60's style the sex scene are often cut with brief montages of meat being chopped up in a butcher's shop. This is eventually explained (sort of) at the end, but it is also a pretty ironic commentary on the (usually) faceless and interchangeable "pieces of meat" that appear in this movie.
