Josefine Mutzenbacher - Wie sie wirklich war: 2. Teil

For those of you who actually enjoy real honest-to-God production values in your porn films, this film, Professional Janine, as I know it, is for you.

Taking place in Franco-Prussian Europe in the 1870s or 1880s, this 100 minute film was shot in 35mm and features absolutely gorgeous scenic landscapes, and farm locations. It also utilizes stylish cinematography, authentic period costumes and a light, humorously translated screenplay.

As for the sex, it's fun as fun can be! Whether it's the scene with the fat lady with the German Oom-pa band playing behind her, or the wager that one officer can't have his way with three ladies, one after the other, on horseback over three kilometers, while downing three pints of vodka in three hours, the film celebrates a pre-AIDS world sex for the pure old fashioned enjoyment of it. And you've got to love that!

As Janine, the innocent farm girl who becomes a famous madame, Leila Visgo is fetching, but hardly volcanic. That's okay, the rest of the girls - and there are many - more than make up for her.

This is a true classic from the Golden Age Of Porn and comes highly recommended.

No pun intended - not sure how many Mutzenbacher movies there are ... and how many "actresses" have portrayed her ... this is the second one (of the x-rated ones at least) and it has a different one already ... and she allegedly only did one of those ... according to imdb right here ... so in part 3 ... a new one is about to come ... and come .. well again but in a different sense as you might have guessed.

I did not remember having seen this, but I must have .. and I actually thought at least one of the scenes was from the first movie ... the one where our main character is relieving too man with her hands ... under a table ... while music is playing wildly ... and faster and faster ... in tune (pun you say?) with the stroking and pleasuring.

So as you can guess this goes hand in hand with the first movie ... and goes full throttle when it comes to mixing humor and sexual situations. When I talk about riding ... it is literal ... in every sense! Like on a horse ... man and woman ... also riding ... we do have a narrator this time around. You may like him or hate him ... I think he's fun enough ... was he needed? Probably not ... but it won't bother you too much either ... I skipped many things so while the dialog is quite funny too I cannot quote anything in particular.

While this is hairy at times, it is not as much as one might expect. This is aimed at straight people/individuals ... though you might see women kissing and fondling each other too ... I assume the rest of the movies probably lost a lot of the touch and fun of the first movies ... I probably still will watch them sometime ... until then, the first and this, is really good stuff ... if you like humor in your bedroom ... or wherever you are watching this.

Another Teutonic adaptation of the memoirs of turn-of-the-century goodtime gal Josephine Mutzenbacher (known as JANINE in the US versions), this is also known as PROFESSIONAL JANINE and is the official sequel to SENSATIONAL JANINE, one of the best XXX films ever made.

Tall cool brunette Leila Vigso stars. She has an ever wry-smile as she engages in numerous sex acts, but neither she nor the picture ever come to a boil. The erotic scenes are mostly very short, allowing many more of them than usual, but they are also poorly filmed, cheating the viewer of involvement. The director here worked as DP on the prequel, SENSATIONAL, but seems to have learned virtually nothing about the technique of staging erotic sex scenes there.

The cast is attractive, lacking the extremely old people who are found in the first JANINE picture. Karine Gambier appears in 2 sequences. Vigso seems a little smug in the role and, though she looks good, she also looks like a pretty cold fish sexually. Certainly the story calls for a business-like approach, but she gives me the impression she'd be happier in some other business, most of the time.

Janine begins hooking in the park, wins and then loses a Viennese businessman who won't tolerate her cheating, and is left to her wits again. She spends some time at a coffeehouse which fronts a brothel, before being rescued by a Hungarian Hussar who takes her to the country. There is a wacky sex-on-horseback competition with the Hussar and his army buddies (different, but not really very sexy, due to the obvious problems of filming it), and a party at a rural inn turns into an orgy. Then Janine is back in Vienna again, opening her own brothel with another orgy. The ending just segues toward a sequel.

Despite a lot of open-air filming and a large, attractive cast, this version of the story is inferior, as porno, to a competing rendition, JOSEPHINE, made about the same time. Between story bits we visit the park where a gravel-voiced hurdygurdy man croaks out verses of a vulgar ballad about Janine. He's supposed to be funny and may have been more so in the German language version. Overall, film is a disappointment, especially to anyone who has seen SENSATIONAL JANINE.
