Clinton Derricks-Carroll, the identical twin brother of Cleavant Derricks, played his character Rembrandt's alter ego in The King Is Back (1995), Greatfellas (1996), and The Prince of Slides (1996). In their last two appearances together, more make-up was used to cause virtually no audience member to be able to tell them apart. Both times, Cleavant and Clinton actually swapped roles during the final scenes, and no one was aware that Clinton was the one playing the Rembrandt who slid with the other main characters.
The device used to activate the wormholes to enable sliding is an old modified Motorola cellphone, the MicroTAC. The new device acquired to slide in season three appeared to be a common television remote control. The device used for sliding in "Exodus" parts I and II was a modified Sega Genesis controller.
Cleavant Derricks (Rembrandt "Remmy" Brown) is the only actor to appear in all 87 episodes of the series.
It was intended that the series would return for a sixth season, which is why the show ended on a cliffhanger.
Jerry O'Connell (Quinn) wrote an episode treatment titled "Narcotica", which took place on an Earth where drugs had been legalized. The story was rejected by the network for being "too dark", but later found life as a "Sliders" comic book.
