The plot of "Aim, Fire, Scoot" is very similar to taking the training portion of "Buck Privates" and remaking it, but the Joe Besser playing the Lou Costello role.
The country of Starvania is apparently very hard up for soldiers. First, they take Joe's girlfriend and next they take the 45 year-old and very rotund Joe. But once in training camp, he drives his sergeant crazy because Joe is an idiot.
This is the second film where they paired Besser with Jim Hawthorne...and Hawthorne is essentially a non-entity in this one. He stand about as Besser acts stupid. There really is not much in the way of plot and it's certainly not a distinguished film. Watchable, perhaps...but no more.
