I own this film, it was bought from a bargain bin, and trust me it has got to be one of the most terrible examples of so called acting ever committed to screen. I could have done better with a group of mates and a camcorder. Everything about this film is cringe worthy, the acting, soundtrack, effects, plot, you name it. I don't know how any director could've read the screenplay and thought that this plot could be displayed with any realism on screen. The dialogue spouted by the lead character and the unknown co-stars is laughable throughout. You will never see this film televised you can be sure of that, but if you ever spy it in a bargain bin of your local blockbuster and fancy a cringe induced laugh, i recommend you buy it. I can honestly say this film truly deserves to be given the MST3K treatment.
Sugar Sugar is a great movie. I really enjoyed this story of a girl on the run. It is like a BBC drama show that suddenly picks up speed and shoots of in a different direction.
It has its share of sleazy, warped characters and action scenes and I really liked the main characters attitude. She takes no prisoners, even if she does use Tom (childhood sweetheart) for her own purposes.
Sugar Sugar - not so sweet, just pretty dangerous. Cool!

I happened to catch Sugar Sugar on television whilst on holiday. I found it to be a very different British independent film which won't be for all viewers that's for sure. But if you have a sense of humour, and enjoy your female characters being really strong then this quirky tale might be for you.
The original story tells of a girl on the run in London from parents, gangsters and a mysterious stranger. Sugar is played by Sarah Manners who you will probably recognise from BBC's "Casualty" and "Strictly Come Dancing". She gives a really great performance and is in my opinion a star in the making. In this film she has a tough attitude and is a pretty violent character too, which is a real departure from her "Casulaty" persona.
I also found the actor playing Sugar's father to hit just the right level of creepiness in his portrayal and you can tell he had a lot of fun playing his role.
There are some special make-up effects too, and one character is a pretty gross old man who Sugar gets pretty close to. If you see the film you will know what I mean. Checking out the make-up guys on IMDb it seems they also did the make-up effects on "Saving Private Ryan". It's great to see they work with all budgets and again their work is great here.
There's action, bizarre characters and lots of atmosphere in the telling of the tale, and although quite a short film it keeps moving forward quickly and kept me entertained whilst the rain chucked it down outside.

Totally enjoyed this low-budget offering and am sure we will be seeing much more of the lead actress in this production. Sure, it's different and pretty violent in places, but with a good cast and script this independent film really rocks.
This film tells the story of a troubled runaway and her descent into the London underworld. Gangsters, guns and bikini's follow (trust me) and this all concludes with an action packed finale.
Low budget can be cool and this is a professional and very quirky film that some might not get, but then unlike Sugar, not everyone's cool.
Rent it, buy it, watch it on the box like I did, but try and catch it and support independent thinking film.
