Burt Reynolds was originally cast as Teddy but he stormed off the set due to "creative differences". When the producers decided to cast a younger actor as Teddy, Michele Lee, who was cast as Teddy's wife, was let go and replaced.

Sitcom about 3 sports buddies now past their prime

A fairly funny show starring Robert Urich as a former football player and his interactions with his friends played by Adam Arkin and Joe Regalbuto as well as his 20 something daughter and his ex-wife played by a still great looking Markie Post. Writing was average in the pilot episode. With a little tweaking it could have been a real winner.. the constant one liners and back and forth insults and bantering of the 3 friends was just fantastic. I'm assuming the reason it never made it to TV was illness of Robert Urich.
