Here are some viewer reviews for Ang Agimat: Anting-Anting ni Lolo:

    1. Nostalgic Charm: "As a fan of classic Filipino films, Ang Agimat: Anting-Anting ni Lolo delivers a delightful mix of nostalgia and adventure. The film's portrayal of Filipino folklore and the significance of the anting-anting resonates deeply with me. The characters are relatable, and the blend of humor and action keeps it entertaining for all ages."

    2. Cultural Significance: "This movie beautifully showcases Filipino culture and traditions. The story revolves around the power of anting-anting, and it's interesting to see how these beliefs are integrated into the characters' lives. The film does a great job of conveying the importance of heritage while providing an engaging storyline."

    3. Fun Family Entertainment: "Ang Agimat is perfect for family movie night! It combines comedy, action, and moral lessons in a way that appeals to both kids and adults. The humor is light-hearted, and the adventure is exciting. It's refreshing to see a film that promotes positive values while being fun to watch."

    4. Mixed Reactions: "While I appreciated the film's attempt to blend fantasy with Filipino culture, I found some parts lacking in execution. The pacing felt uneven, and certain comedic moments didn't land well for me. However, the performances were solid, and there were some genuinely entertaining scenes that kept me engaged."

    5. Enjoyable but Flawed: "I enjoyed Ang Agimat: Anting-Anting ni Lolo for its fun premise and engaging story. The film has a lot of heart, but the special effects and production quality felt a bit dated. Nonetheless, it's a light and entertaining watch, especially for those who appreciate Filipino folklore."

    6. Heartwarming Story: "This film is a heartwarming adventure that emphasizes family and friendship. The bond between the characters and the lessons learned throughout the story resonate well with viewers. It's a great reminder of the value of trust and love in overcoming challenges."

A Pathetic Waste of Good Special Effects & Set Designs

The film had impressive special effects, rendered by computer graphics. It also had an array of beautiful costumes. Except for the manananggal (half-bodied creature) who looked silly. The sound effects were also magnificent, and magnified the effect of suspenseful moments in the film. Jaime Fabregas did a good performance as some kind of researcher who was coerced by evil forces to do their bidding. And Mylene Dizon was a convincing manananggal, that you would definitely get shivers being with her with the way she looked and acted. It was rather smart of them to make the manananggal be a longganisa maker at the same time, so as to play with the grisly effect of her role. Unfortunately, that's the least good I can say about this film.

The story is lame and has obvious resemblances to The Mummy Returns. To make it worse, the story as to the what, when, why of the villain character is never revealed. It never even attempts to break the stereotypes. It was a moronic story which never made much sense. Who was that corpse that the researcher was trying to resurrect? Why was she so angry? When resurrected, what did she intend to do? Why was Maria Makiling there all of a sudden? Who was the father of the central character? Why is it that the manananggal was also working for the main villain? Was she really collecting hearts for the main villain, or just having her nightly appetite? The characters had no dimension. The film was a virtual idiotic.

Bong Revilla Jr. could also use some basic acting workshop. The dubbing was obvious. The sequencing also bad. The sudden appearance of two cruel fellows hurting a leper in some forest on an evening never made sense. Bong Revilla himself is a major stain in the film. Why such a bad actor take on three roles? He plays the (butod) hero in a roman armor, the old janitor, and the leper who was rescued by the main character. I remember him preaching that piracy damages the film industry by depriving actors and actresses with jobs. But on this film he unfairly takes on two extra roles, which could have been jobs for two other people.

One of the worst movies ever made.

Ang Agimat Anting Anting Ni Lolo

    ZERO stars Grade: F

I have watched a lot of movies but I haven't seen anything this bad since Jean Claude Van Damme's Knock Off. But Knock Off is a four-star masterpiece compared to this piece of dreck. To make a movie, you first need a credible story, but this movie jumps around in so many places that I wouldn't even call it credible. The acting in this movie was so bad, I laughed during the parts that were supposed to be dramatic. As for the special effects, they were downright horrible, HORRIBLE!!!! I know Filipino films don't have the same budget as Hollywood films but Spirit Warriors II: The Shortcut looked just as good as a Hollywood film (and that was a Filipino film). Most of the costumes looked like costumes you would buy at the department store and the fight sequences were just so stupid I cringed in my seat. If this is the first Filipino movie ever in Dolby Digital 5.1, then why did the sound go off for ten minutes!? Didn't they have enough money to put sound in a crucial part of the film? One more thing, three Revillas don't make a good film, they make a HORRIBLE one. All the movies I have seen look like there was some effort put into it, this film though, was a complete and total failure.
