By 2005 it seemed that most people thought they knew the story of the Titanic but this changed when David Concannon, John Chatterton and Richie Kohler went on an expedition and discovered two large pieces of the ships bottom hull far away from the rest of the wreck site. After this historians and experts started to rethink what they had previously known and the possibility that the ship broke apart much sooner was debated. In between the searches we get stories of the Titanic, her hitting the iceberg and eventually sinking two hours later. We also get to hear other smaller stories about the class types of the time as well as what Titanic was supposed to be when she was being built. History buffs and fans of the tragedy should really enjoy this documentary for a number of reasons but the biggest is obviously the new footage of the discovery that had experts rethinking when the ship broke apart and perhaps that ice broke the ship from underneath as well. I think most fans of the ship are going to enjoy seeing all of this new footage and the debate as to what happened is quite interesting. I've seen quite a few documentaries on the subject of the story of the sinking is something they all tell. You could argue that the story itself is just so strong that anyone could tell it. The way the story is told here was quite effective and you really do get a great feel for what happened. Those that aren't overly informed about the subject should get a good idea of what happened and why.

This was an interesting visit to the sunken legend, and the show was well done. The best part about this show was the challenging of what most of the world, including most scientists and Titanic enthusiast's think how the great ship sunk. This seems like one of those times that even though this new theory may someday be proved, it won't make a difference. Who knows what technology we will someday develop and learn the true secrets of the Titanic. Nonetheless give this program a try, especially if you are fascinated by the great ship. (Fans of the movie only, need not apply.) It was interesting to see the men who found the true location of U-869 involved in this project as well. John Chatterton and Richie Kohler are indeed an addition to this program, but you can really see that the Titanic is not their major field of expertise.

I found that the documentary was very interesting. A little boring at times when you have to wait for them to do their searching things but when they get there is mystifying. it gets really interesting when they get to certain parts. You can really feel the energy they have down there. the titanic is still breathtaking when you first see it. if you have ever watched sea hunters on the history channel (it's a show where they look for old shipwrecks) it's a lot like that type. thats all I can pretty much say except that I recommend it to anyone who is really into the titanic you will enjoy it and you won't be disappointed in the very least.
