Being a middle aged white male from outside the United States I'm probably not the target demographic but I find this show charming. Some of its themes are universal: family, community, cultural clashes, economic pressures, trying to live your values under challenging circumstances. These are things a lot of us can relate to in our own context.
The backdrop of the show is about creeping gentrification into a Latino community in L. A. centered around a cast of characters tied together by family and their local taco shop. There are a lot of political themes around class and culture that come up that may turn off some people but I never found any of it heavy handed even in instances where I didn't agree with the messaging.
The cast is solid and the characters are well developed. I particularly enjoyed watching Karrie Martin as Ana, she lights up the screen in every scene she's in. I hope to see more of her. Glad to see its getting a second season.

Starts slowly but actually warms up. I love the humanness in all the characters. In my household we always made a way to get through. Though based in the west coast it shows the Latin American culture in a light I'm familiar with and won't ever forget!
This show is fun yet portrays real issues with Latinx businesses and struggles in America. Not to mention, the values of family and community are heartwarming to see. Neighborhoods across the nation can relate to the stories told in the show so I hope for a season 2 and for more shows like this on Netflix. Gentrification is real and has taken over cities like LA. Don't ride this show off as "hating white people" because it doesn't. Don't confuse criticism and commentary with hate. Anyone can enjoy this show for the stories being told. Gentefied establishes a great commentary while staying familiar and realistic.
I seriously love this more and more. Casimoro is one of the best most loveable characters, honestly, love them all. Cant wait for more
About time someone created a TV show like this, funny, humor, family with Hispanic culture, old school with New school. I Loved this TV show and kept me Laughing😂
