I couldn't tell if it was trying to be profound, The suspense and action genre of this film, but it kind of failed at all of them.

I don't think it deserves the award it has received - some confused moments but it has one storyline which doesn't goes in goodness and I soon lost interest in this film. I though I lost some details then I watched again in advance of going to see this. The acting of Song and Qiu is brilliant and moving me, but the scenery is spectacular, and I don"t like the lighting of every frame because it looks so superficial. The background music I feel that doesn't match the film very much. I didn't get it.

An indie movie I saw it is a little surprised by incident. I was not sure the quality of this movie before I went into the theater. The poster online seems like a unique production with the limited budget. I cannot image whether this movie deserves to seeing. However, to extend my predictation, this movie although is not a blockbuster, the picture and lighting of it are professional. The actors looks like unknown but their understanding of the characters are deep and profound. I feel lucky to see an indie movie of a suspenceful story happened in China and feel another life of a specific group.

Disappoints on multiple fronts, especially its cinematography. The visual aspect fails to captivate or enhance the narrative. Scenes are shot in a mundane way, lacking The lighting seems weird with some scenes being either too dim, making it hard to discern details, or overly bright, washing out the colors and any potential mood.

The camera work is equally unimpressive. There are no dynamic angles or smooth transitions. It often feels like a static recording rather than a well - crafted film. This poor cinematography undermines the story, which already struggles with a convoluted plot and underdeveloped characters.

One of the most effective elements in this movie is its lighting design. Rather than employing dramatic or overt techniques, a more naturalistic approach that subtly enhances the emotional landscape of each scene. Interiors are often bathed in soft and give me a feeling of suspense artwork. Director masterfully paces the story, with moments of tension and emotional breakthrough to emerge naturally from the characters' interactions rather than relying on unnatural and artificial twist. In a word, While it may not leave you breathless, it will undoubtedly leave you reflecting on the subtle power of genuine interaction.

The film often feels like it's holding back, failing to immerse us in the disorienting terror Du Juan experiences fully. While Nan Guang attempts to convey her altered perception through subtle means, these don't always translate into a truly immersive or consistently unsettling experience for the audience. The pacing can be inconsistent, with moments of genuine tension punctuated by stretches that feel slow or predictable. The killer's cat-and-mouse games, while conceptually intriguing, sometimes lack the sustained psychological impact needed to maintain suspense at a peak. It's a film with flashes of brilliance and a truly captivating concept, but one that ultimately leaves you wishing it had pushed its boundaries further to fully explore its terrifying potential.
