Don't believe the hype. Sure, it's a pretty good movie with great actors but it doesn't really explain why Zlatan is Zlatan, on a deeper level. You won't cry or laugh. And if you don't know some of the names that are dropped, you will miss a lot. And as always, you can't fake the real game of football on the silver screen. It just gets silly and fabricated. If you're not a fanboy, skip this rather boring and shallow movie since it will not bring any extra, as a movie or the story of Zlatan.
Inside view to the childhood and U-19 team's time of the famous footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic, added some jumps to the year 2004. Recommend this to everybody, had a good feeling after the movie that I have taken part of this journey.
I've never been a Zlatan fan. I've only seen a few of his matches and interviews on TV, and he's always come across as cocky and self-centered, someone who puts himself before anyone else. That kind of personality makes him a difficult character to truly like or root for.
Still, I went into this film hoping to see a different side of him. I wanted to understand the person behind the tough exterior we're so used to seeing. Unfortunately, this is exactly where the film falls short.
Even though I knew very little about Zlatan before watching, I came out of it feeling like I'd learned even less. In fact, the movie made me like him even less than before. There's no depth, no tension, no surprises, and no personal growth. He's portrayed as the same angry, cocky, selfish character from childhood through adulthood.
If someone like me, who came in with an open mind and minimal background knowledge, found nothing new or engaging here, I can't imagine how underwhelming it must be for actual fans. Sadly, I can't recommend this film.

"I Am Zlatan" is a Biography - Drama movie in which we follow the life of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, one of the most controversial and talented footballers of all time. The movie offers a close look at Zlatan's journey from his rough upbringing in Sweden to his rise as a global football star.
I have to admit that I enjoyed this movie and it captured very well the essence of Zlatan's personality while it presented very well the challenges that he faced. Despite that, I also expected a deeper exploration of his inner conflict and complexities. The interpretation of the lead actor Granit Rushiti who played as Zlatan Ibrahimovic was very good and added authenticity to the portrayal. To sum up, I have to say that "I Am Zlatan" is a nice movie especially for football fans or anyone curious about the man behind the legend. It might not be perfect, but it offers a glimpse into the unique journey of one of the sport's most polarizing figures so, I would recommend it to those who admire Zlatan Ibrahimovic or enjoy sports dramas.

Predictable and superficial. Poor acting on all parts, unfortunately not least when it comes to the main character. A polished and fan-adapted version of the main character. The entire movie feels juvenile and does not seize the opportunity to create insights in Z as a person or the influence he had on those around him. Rather it just confirms the general image of a non-conformist, grumpy ego without creating any understanding for the driving forces involved. It fails to bring anything new to the table.
The film seems to be focused on building the Zlatan mythology and brand rather than telling the story of his life in a good way. This is a pity, since Z's history has great potential.
On the positive side.
I guess the football scenes are pretty good and it is said to be quite historically accurate.
There is no real reason to see it. If you are a fan, it likely confirms your opinions. If you're not, it doesn't add much.
