I like Krista Bridges especially in Wandering Eye (2009), but she was terrible in this. And what was with the thick eyebrows? I also like Hannah Vandenbygaart especially in the Sweetheart, this was a poor choice on her behalf! By the way Allison (played by Bree Williamson) is one of the dumbest moms in LMN movies.
Allison Winters' world comes crashing down when her husband dies of a sudden heart attack, announcing on his deathbed that he has a secret family. Six months later, this family arrives on Allison's doorstep, determined to be a part of her life...

Widow and her daughter find out that dying husband had a mistress and son who play the sympathy card and she lets them live on her property? Who would do that in reality? Skip it.
I sat down to watch this on a lazy afternoon & it kept me glued! I enjoyed most of movie. Everyone did a spectacular job & I kinda figured out a little early into it what was going on, but I was still glued to the tv to see what was going to happen next! I'm not going to spoil anything for you, but I noticed some people were complaining about the way it went off...but I liked the ending! It didn't go off making you wonder what happened, they actually closed the movie up for you. I must warn you though...The teenage daughter Hollie (Hannah Vandenbygaart) acts like a stuck up snob for most of the movie & it's kinda irritating since the girl has nothing to be stuck up about! The lady playing her mom Allison (Bree Williamson) is way hotter than she is even on her worst day! Pop you come popcorn, kick your feet up & sit back & enjoy the movie it's worth a watch.
And it was terrible. During the opening scene, I was hopeful that the movie would have a Revenge/Deception kind of vibe to it, but it didn't. First off, I believe the inheritance was only a million dollars? At the risk of sounding very first world, that's not enough money for all this drama. They own horses and that nice home on acreage and with their expensive taste....the inheritance should have at least been ten million for the movie to make sense.
As for the plot: the father has a heart attack at their daughter's party and he ends up dying not long after. On his deathbed, he admits to having an illegitimate son and Allison promises to look out for them. Well months later, the mom and son come to see if she meant it. This is where the movie lost me...you don't know them at all for the first thing. Did they really need to live on the property? They were strangers. Helping them find their own space would make more sense. I think they were going for a rich man/poor man, but it really didn't work for me. Lots of things going on in this movie. A plotline with the adults and a plotline with the "teens." It all eventually comes to a head in the climax that was alluded to in the opening scene. Not even joking, but the villain reveal and monologue happened so fast, I thought I missed something. This was just not a good movie. I hope the next time Lifetime does this plot, they flesh it out a little more.
