Well, I sat down to watch the 2019 movie "Into the Void" from writer and director Jordan Cantello with the notion that it was a zombie movie. Little did I know that this was a 'zombie movie with a heart'. Well, watch the movie, and you'll get what I mean.
I didn't enjoy this movie. It was purely too mundane and unfathomably slow paced. So slow, in fact, that I gave up 45 minutes into the ordeal. Why? Well, absolutely nothing of any interest had happened in those prolonged 45 minutes and I didn't care one ounce about the characters in the movie. So continuing to watch it would just be considered self-torture.
Well, I will say that the movie was nicely filmed and had some good enough production value to it. However, I didn't enjoy the storyline, nor the fact that this wasn't really a zombie movie in the traditional sense. So I was rather disappointed with this pseudo-dramatic dribble that was "Into the Void".
Actually, the title of the movie, "Into the Void", is a clear indicator of what you will be in for when you sit down to watch this 2019 movie; a whole lot of nothing.
I am rating "Into the Void" a generous two out of ten stars, solely for its production value. There was absolutely nothing enjoyable or entertaining in this movie for my liking, and I have zero interest in returning to watch the rest of the movie, as I simply couldn't care less about the storyline of the characters in the movie.
