As a kid born in the 80s and growing up in the 90s this was my jam and a must see! Love documentaries like this!! The "where are they now" will always be interesting to me but to really see how much of a family they were was so endearing and coming from a German family who's grandmother who was and will always in love with David Hasselhoff, seeing his relationship with Jeremy even till this day was one of the best parts. Also hearing the women talk about their own insecurities even being the bombshells they were really humanizes Hollywood. Inspiring to say the least. I'm also now going to binge bay watch Hawaii because I didn't even know it existed and pretend it's still the 90's , the best decade.
Authenticity isn't something I expect from anything with "Baywatch" in the title, but I found this doc to be surprisingly compelling and heartwarming. It took a long time to make and it shows, not only in the changing looks of the actors participating, but in the beautiful filmmaking. This is not a cut n' paste of old Baywatch footage and 'where are they now?' clips, there is such a personal quality to the interviews and behind-the-scenes footage. Most of the participants were so honest and vulnerable, even relatable. I had no idea what kind of abuse they suffered at the hands of show creators, definitely not the type you'd expect.
After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun was both nostalgic and revealing; like a trip down memory lane, but you get to see inside all the houses.

I love documentaries but lately I've noticed a trend that a lot of these Hollywood type documentaries come without any real substance or resolution. Its sole purpose is to make those involved look good. If you're main purpose for this is to see what Pamela Anderson is up to, there's one out there that's pretty good but she is not even in this so if that's what you're looking for then move on. Produced by David Hasselhoff and some other members of the show, I think the whole point was to validate themselves, give themselves a pat on the back, slap it together and it's done. It was both too long and too short at the same time. It's not worth watching from my perspective.
They barely touched on Baywatch Hawaii but I loved how they really talked in-depth with the stars they did feature. Pam, Nicole, Erika, Gregory Alan-Williams, Jeremy, and Carmen got a lot of deserved time. I know some stats have avoided the spotlight after they left the show...Yasmine, for example but a lot of my favorites got little to no mention and that's a shame. Baywatch was a long running show with more than a handful of stars that made it what it was. For me, I had a favorite or two each season and the Baywatch Hawaii seasons had some amazing characters that deserved to get their moments in this documentary as well.
The documentary on Baywatch is a nostalgic deep dive into the world of the most-watched TV series ever. Featuring rare home videos and candid interviews, it reveals the highs and lows of fame for its iconic stars. Through intimate moments, viewers see the behind-the-scenes realities of the show that captivated millions. The emotional depth, paired with the thrill of Baywatch's rise, makes this docu-series both entertaining and heartfelt-a must-watch for fans of the show and anyone curious about the roller coaster of stardom! They did a wonderful job showing the people behind the characters!!!!
