Modooui Geojitmal was a thrilling series from start to finish. The who-done-it mystery, ample red herrings, along with shocking evil actions, gave enough intrigue to keep you guessing and engaged to it. Lots of suspicious characters who continued to develop, continued to be people you liked and hated. Lee Min-Kim's role as brave and relentless Detective Jo Tae-sik was amazing, this was my favorite role of his so far. Yoo-Young Lee as Kim Soo-he followed a path most people who experienced horror after horror would take, making mistakes, unsure of who to trust, but fighting her fear to keep going to find the truth. The surrounding cast was terrific as well. Worthy of a watch. Can you guess Who-done-it and why?
As this Korean drama opens a woman crashes from the top of a tower block. A couple of weeks later an assemblyman is killed when his car is driven off the road. The two events aren't considered to be connected and both are initially thought to be suicides. Jo Tae-sik, a police officer who has requested a transfer to a rural area, is given the case. It is meant to be an easy last case but he soon realises the car crash was no accident. Along with two colleagues he sets about uncovering the truth. Meanwhile Kim Seo-hee, the assemblyman's daughter, is encouraged to stand in the by-election caused by her father's death. Around the same time her husband disappears. She is pressured to help push through a law her father intended to propose. As the story progresses these two protagonists work together and find themselves and those close to them endangered as they cross powerful people determined to keep a dangerous secret.
I thought this was a really solid series. Fans of Korean crime drama should really enjoy it. The central mystery is interesting and provides more twists and turns than I'd expected from a series that shows us some of the behind the scenes plotting. The drama provides plenty of tense moments as well as one major shock which I won't spoil. As is often the case in K-Drama there are also a few laughs, more so early on, to lighten the tone; many of these are provided by policewoman Kang Jin-kyung. The cast does a fine job bringing their characters to life. Overall definitely one to watch if you enjoy Korean crime dramas.

Why is she so dumb? So clueless? Why the heck does she just scream hysterically at every opportunity? Why does she just do what everyone tells her to do? This could be a very good series. It's interesting. The FL however is a clueless barbie doll with zero facial expression apart from "dumb vague". Why Kdramas can't put in more strong women characters who aren't helpless dolls is beyond me, but they keep repeating the same mistakes.
She is only minorly below the screaming woman in "she was pretty" who screams in every show she's in unnecessarily.
I otherwise like the show, but am not sure whether to continue with the mute button on permanently or just suck it up and watch it. There's not a lot of choice without my neighbours calling the police on me from all the hysterical screaming.

This was a great detective series! I must admit I figured out two mysteries on my own especially who was really behind it all. But it didn't take away from the suspense and my interest in each character. The lead detective was excellent as were all the other supporting characters. One character broke my heart and I'll say no more so I don't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet. I sometimes fast forward when episodes drag on or get a bit boring, but I never did that with this series. Totally worth watching!
Superb acting from everyone, especially the actor who plays the deplorably narcissistic Chairman Jeong Young-mun (he's not listed on here or on Wikipedia, so I don't know who he is).
