It is thematically imbued with ideas that dared to challenge the unwavering shadows of stigmas and superstitions, but from a cinematic perspective, the writing, or the screenplay to be exact, faltered on so many levels.
The editing had issues (continuities); the dialogues sounded over-emphasised, and it had to do more with the pitch and tonality of words vocalised than what was communicated through those lines. As a consequence, the deliveries started sounding kind of preachy and pharisaical.
I only wish the messages were put across in a more fitting fashion because we all should be bringing up such discourses in our daily discussions.

Just fantastic!! One of its kind and Kaushik da's magic.. Must Watch!! Everyone should hit the theatre to watch it ayleast once.. it explores the superstitions prevailing in villages and sometimes in town as well and used in the name of religion to harness money and how its reality in medical terms... A concept never bought up before the audience!!!!!!!! Great one.....
Everyone should watch it, be it for the performances, story or message. It is top notch on all these aspects. And the performance of Ujan Ganguly in the last scene of the film is beyond explanation.. A beautiful narration and message.

So Lokkhi Chhele.... Firstly, this brought out the amazing and super talented actor in Ambarish Bhattacharya. What an acting!
And Ujaan Ganguly, whose eyes resemble Churni's,way of talking resembles her, while attitude resembles Kaushik Ganguly!
This indeed, would have been possible in Kolkata, in Bengal!
From the very beginning, the film kept us stuck to our seats, excited and waiting for the immediate next scene to flash to know how the story progresses ahaid.
Half an hour to the movie's end,and the movie could have been given a Bollywood style ending with the audience happy enough to go back home and recommend it to others, but, the director focused and emphasised on the story, the reality and thus made the last 30 minutes of the movie unbearably sad and thought-provoking for us.
I couldn't practically hold my tears in the last few minutes of the movie, and probably that's what masterpieces are like.
A movie worth the highest rating, and overall,a movie worth a trillion watch,in every remote village of India, every maternity care nursing home.
It's a moment of pride to say that we belong to a generation of stars like Kaushik Ganguly, Churni Ganguly,Ujaan Ganguly,Ambarish Bhattacharya and Babul Supriyo.
And,who else could have been a better producer than the most social and benevolent Nandita-Shiboprosad.
An ode to acting,cinema,humanity!

I just don't have any words to express. A must watch! It was not only a movie but an experience. Each and every scene were so perfectly presented by the director, actors and even by each and everyone. I must admire Ujaan Ganguly along with Churni Ganguly, Ambarish and even their co actors too. Casting was too good. The story itself is a very strong point for this movie but I must say that this type of strong script and screenplay this story is just the cherry on the cake. I was a fan of both Ujaan and Kaushik Ganguly and obviously was exited to watch Lokkhi chhele but now after watching Lokkhi chhele, from today I will be waiting to see them working together again. Thank you Windows 💕
As with most Kaushik Ganguly's films, this too is based on a social issue and well crafted. The mindsets portrayed are difficult to uproot, but the film clearly tells us which path to walk.
The script has some flaws and is a tad too sentimental, but is mostly well paced and acted. Special mention for Churni Ganguly, Ambarish Bhattacharya. Music is good.
