The Moors

If this was a feature film then it would be an amazing sequel to American Werewolf in London. It invokes the fear and mood of that film... and this time it's shot genuinely on the Yorkshire Moors. Thankfully we don't see too much of that there werewolf - which means thankfully - we are not assaulted by CGI that will date the film (go look at the Twilight werewolves and you will see how bad it is) The filmmakers decided to use real creatures and real blood in real locations shot genuinely at night - and this is the winning combination. I really hope a UK funding body can see this and give them some money to make a full length werewolf film.

This is a deliciously entertaining folk-horror, and an ode to the creepiness of the desolate Yorkshire Moors.

There's some stomach-churning practical VFX work which I was really impressed by, along with some great sickening sound design and an ominous score to bolster all the kills-of which there are many...

Atmospheric and unsettling, the film though never forgets to throw in a few laughs along the way that had me chuckling. I found the direction to be solid, with some really compelling uses of twisting 'Dutch angles' and 'overhead' shots-which were very unique.

I particularly enjoyed the films 'reverse'-structure and a great nighttime sequence in the middle involving two joiners; great natural chemistry from actors Danny Cunningham and Sebastian Storey.

A fun indie horror, with mixes of 'Dog Soldiers' and 'An American Werewolf in London'. I'd love to see what this director could do with a bigger budget!

In a county famed for its glorious moorland, where better to stage a werewolf movie. The Moors hits the mark in every way, slick soundtrack that builds the tension, a local cast with accents to match, superb practical effects and a storyline at the heart of every community. It has humour, tension and gore in abundance which made me jump on several occasions. It's hard to believe so much is squeezed into a short movie but the fast pace helps carry the story to a thrilling conclusion , making you wish the film was longer, though the end credit scene is a welcomed finale. The cast and crew deserve heaps of praise in delivering this on such a small budget, I'm sure it'll be a huge success.

The feeling of walking on the moors during a full moon, with that eerie mist rising a few inches off the ground across to one of the filming locations in The Moors sent a bit of a shiver down my spine watching this.

A couple of the characters "nope" moments is about as real as it gets!

The drone shots, camera work, special effects, characters and story (sure there's more to it than just 'story' from Adams side) were well thought out, with enough there to invest in the various characters.

A couple of great homages to other movies in there, knowing Adams genuine love for the movies, giving them a nod shows his real passion in The Moors.

Fans of horror, drama, writing, special effects and directing need to see this and take inspiration. Can't wait for his next project.

I heard about this film as I live in the next village to where it is set and filmed and heard about it from local chat.

The film although short at only 30 minutes long is 30 minutes of tension and horror. The location is perfect for a film of this genre and the drone footage at the beginning shows the area in all its creepy beauty and sets the mood perfectly.

Although clearly a "low budget" film, it doesn't feel it. I have watched many many films over the years of this type and found them to be a mixed bag and often forgettable but The Moors is not that and I will certainly watch it again. I will also look out for anything else from this director.
