The Comedian

I watched it a week or so back. Fantastic work by everyone involved. Always been a huge fan of Satish Kaushik ji and his work as a comedian. Pappu Pager ko Deewana Mastana mein bhale hi koi bhaari padela hoyenga lekin comedy mein Pappu Pager ko kabhi koi bhaari nahin padela. Even though this is not necessarily a comedy movie, Satish ji's performance is absolutely outstanding!

This movie reminded me of the old classic Mili...where Amitabh Bachchan is a very snobby/unfriendly/arrogant neighbor like Satish Kaushik in Comedian, and Mili (Jaya Bhaduri) has a terminal illness and how Mili and her friends change Amitabh.

That was an old classic and Comedian will be remembered as a classic of this era!

The Comedian is a very heartwarming and at times very emotional movie that ensures a sweet smile on your face with your heart brimming with many emotions. Sir Satish Kaushik provides those sweet chuckles but often, his deft acting performance, makes you see profoundly into his deep and varied emotions, that you can't help but realise how wonderful actor Satish sir is (Artists live on). I absolutely loved the beautiful bond between sir and the young girl 'Riya'. The scene where both tell their respective jokes to each other makes a delightful moment to feel emotional for sir's character but smile on Riya's innocent laughter.

The short film "The Comedian," featuring the late Satish Kaushik, marks the beginning of JioCinema's digital film festival running until October 18. Directed and written by Katyayan Shivpuri, it's one of Kaushik's posthumous releases following his untimely passing in March 2023.

The film delves into the life of aging actor-comedian Hasmukh (Kaushik), whose career has dwindled, leading to a fractured family due to his recklessness. Burdened by frustration and bitterness, his life takes an unexpected turn when he forms a touching friendship with an ailing child named Ria.

"The Comedian" brilliantly conveys the fading glory of Hasmukh's career, showcasing his struggles and the irony of his cheerful name. It draws parallels with Sanjay Mishra's "Kaamyaab," exploring the challenges faced by senior artists in an evolving industry.

The emotional core of the film lies in Hasmukh's transformation through his bond with Ria, who imparts valuable lessons about love and companionship as she battles cancer. Despite some minor issues with dialogue and character development, the film shines with heartfelt moments and serves as a tribute to Kaushik's artistry.

Worth a watch for those who want to think about the film after its over. Great performance and effective screenplay makes the impact. Delivers exactly what the genre need to . Satish Kaushik performance is at point and specially the small child , she took my heart. Comedy and emotions are not forced making it more impact full.kudos to the producers, director ,writers to tell such a story in a short time with full conviction. After watching the film you might want to think what would be the lives of the yesteryear actors/ performers and were are they today. A message which is so true and people should learn and implement in real life.
