After every single line there is annoying canned laughter, even when something is barely humorous.
also barely humorous is the best you are going to get from this show even if the canned laughter doesnt make it unwatchable.
Okay so in this particular day and age where things are looking gloomy for almost everyone in some way or another this is a hilarious show I feel like is a rare gem no it's not the most original or the smartest show ever but deep down it gives you what ya need a good solid laugh or atleast it did me I say I recommend you atleast try it ps. If your anything like me you'll fall in love with the character of Gina
I am a 30 year old on in center hemodialysis and have had end stage renal disease requiring dialysis for shortly under a year. I don't get just the extreme amount of hate I am seeing here. Sure some things aren't 100% accurate. Some jokes fall a little flat but what do you expect honestly. It is a fully competent show and I've laughed more than a few times. Anything that puts kidney disease in the spotlight is a plus, and could maybe inspire someone to be a live donor to someone that needs a kidney, like myself. I hope this show continues for a while.
I used to watch this show off and on in the first season. It was basically just something to pass the time. However, after seeing Annaleigh Ashford on Impeachment, I was so impressed that I gave the show a second look. To my delight, the second season is a total revamping of the show. They changed the focus to the assisted living home, and added great veteran supporting characters. Linda Lavin was on the first season, but she wasn't used enough. They beefed up her part and she's great. They also added Hector Elizondo, Priscilla Lopez, Ben Vereen and a surprisingly hilarious Jane Seymour. The way she plays an over the hill bimbo makes me laugh every time. I think if you weren't happy with this show the first season you should give it a second look.
I did not think I would last with this show as the first episode I didn't feel, but I have to say, I have embraced the quirky set of characters. Hate to see Sara Rue not utilized so much and glad they have added more Linda Lavin. I think the chemistry between the leads is enticing.
