Tokatsu DJ broadly tells the story of a group of young people who are trying to find their identity, the story centers on the character Agetaro as the main character, a potential successor to the 3rd generation of shibukatsu, one day seeing a woman who looks elegant and far from his reach, long story short when the shop is about to close agetaro assigned to deliver the final order, it brings Agetaro to a world completely different from what he expected, agetaro sees the joy of a DJ who can entertain many people which he later sees as similar to what his father did though done in a completely different way, from here the story begins.
The storyline that is presented is very interesting, coherent, and the message intended is very clear. Although this film is a comedy genre, the comedy that is presented is very light and easy for the audience to understand, but unfortunately because since the genre is comedy, romance drama between agetaro and heroin characters seem only to add to the background of the story, this is good considering the genre is not comedy romantic comedy, or even drama
The cinematology presented is quite good, typical of Japanese films in general
A good selection of background music is the main support for the story, considering the story line that tells the story of a tonkatsu worker who wants to be a DJ, of course this is very important to strengthen the story.
Overall this film is strong in terms of story lines, and very uplifting for those who are sometimes confused about finding their purpose in life, there are no outstanding flaws, although what I really hoped for was the addition of the main character's romance drama.
But again, this film is a comedy genre, and not a drama, I give it an 8/10 rating, overall, and this film is worth watching for teenagers or young adults.
