A Woman's Promise

Give Eric Boisvert (aka Ricky Greenwood) credit for directing an Adult movie that plays like a real, mainstream film, albeit with time out for the mandatory four lengthy sex scenes.

It's built on a concept that's a staple for stories in the lesbian porn genre: Ivy Wolfe is caught making love in the back seat of a car to her school's prom queen, and sent by her family to a special ranchnamed A Woman's Promise to be reprogrammed for suppressing her same-sex urges.

Magdalene St. Michaels runs the retreat, and it's great to see her back in action, after a career as Sapphic Cinema's greatest actress. All the characters have interesting back stories and the drama is conventional and predictable, but entertaining nonetheless.

Ivy, frequently delivering voice-over narration, is an empathetic heroine, and all eight players deliver invigorating sexual performances. One oddity is that all the players have character names identical to their stage names (on a first-name basis) in keeping with porno simplicity, except for lovely Sabna Rouge, who is named Paige.
