Definitely all about Nate and Jeremiah. I was hoping to watch a show about the homeowners house being re-designed. The majority of the show is about Nate and Jeremiah's relationship. Lots of hugging calling each other babe. Oh right right we're supposed to decorate this person's house the one thing the homeowner told us what she likes dark floors. Oops the wrong color floors came in while we weren't around working on this house. They are light colored floors but it's what Nate Wood would choose for his house. Oh well too late to change it now we don't want to bust their budget. I don't think it was the homeowners fault that somebody wasn't on the job making sure the floor colors were correct. Oh well the homeowner won't find out until they watch the show and we will be long gone by then.
This show is painful to watch for anyone who is struggling financially. Not because people are spending their money to have their house renovated on TV, but because of the entitlement (I know, I hate that word, too). Hearing Nate and Jeremiah constantly say "you need this" and "you deserve this" is annoying. The families constantly complain that they can't entertain because they don't have an "open concept" or can't cook because their kitchen is ugly. I can tell you that if you didn't cook or entertain before, you aren't going to do it now because everything is pretty. Don't get me wrong, I am a capitalist who has no issue with how people spend their money, but the sob stories are really pathetic and annoying for anyone who has truly struggled. Because if you can afford a million dollar house in Los Angeles and come up with 100k+ to have your house renovated on TV, you are doing okay in my book.
So I've seen several shows already, and like any other home make over shows, it makes for good background tv. What annoys me is the bit narcissistic of the couple. They are being PAID by the homeowners for their service, but yet every show they do this surprise intro as if they are Jesus and Mary. And I just saw an episode last night when they are being paid to renovate a homeless shelter/covenant house. They drove up in their fancy Mercedes G class SUV with an MSRP of $130,000. I get it's their money but that a bit tone deaf.
Also, like other home shows, their always mistakes during the process. But unlike say, an unanticipated bad piping, their are more like wrong measurements. WTF!? And they get a show? They show a clip of them flipping a table with drawers pointing down, almost causing damages. Are they that amateur? And lastly, it always annoying when they are on camera doing work, Jeremiah is always dressed as if he on a fashion runway with a hat. At least chip and Joanna dressed as if they are actually working.
So 1 star for good background tv, and 4 stars because I wouldn't kick them out of bed.

This show sucks almost as bad as Nate Berkus does in real life! Nate is NOT a nice person by any means. We hosted a party for his brother and Nate constantly complained about our services and actually demanded we give his brother a full refund. He and his entitled stuck-up husband left the party early. That's when the mood of the room changed and everyone actually started having a good time. At the end of the night his brother thanked us for a great party several times and gave us a big tip. I don't know what his bitterness is about, but I used to be a fan, until I met him in real life and discovered it's all an act. Network's need to stop greenlighting his lackluster, fakeness.
I like this show, I dont think people realise that the work hard to give people what they want. They work with various places to get supplies at cost. On o e of their shows they received an additional 50,000 in supplies for the home owners. So who cares that they talk about their family so does all the other DY shows out there. To Nate and Jeremiah hope you will be on this fall yo DYI channel 38.
