Resumen
Reviewers say 'Madres' delves into eugenics, cultural conflict, and supernatural themes rooted in historical events. While some criticize its horror classification, slow pace, and lack of scares, others commend Ariana Guerra and Tenoch Huerta's performances and its significant social message. The film's fusion of horror and drama, coupled with its cultural and historical backdrop, generates mixed reactions, with some finding it boring and politically driven, while others appreciate its execution.

The message this has is .. an interesting and important one. But until it is revealed you have to endure a movie that keeps you hanging and guessing what is what. Not a bad thing in my book, but something that a few viewers may take issue with. That the story does not move along quickly enough.
Supernatural things occur or maybe they don't ... there are things you have to imagine happen ... on the other hand, the movie is quite clear on certain things ("real" or not so real). The performances are good and there are a few nice (scary) scenes that may get a reaction out of you ... not the best of the bunch produced by Blumhouse, but as you can tell I am not dissapointed either ... I am easy to please though, so maybe that doesn't mean too much. Still love the message, even if the real life implacations are more horrific than anything seen in the movie ...

Out of other Blum House movies I have seen this one is better than most. Based on a true story it was scary to think this really happened. So in a way it was a horror, just not in the BOO! Kind of way. Great leads, I could relate with Diana being a Hispanic but not knowing a lick of Spanish. I recommend if you like true stories.
Honestly this film had the potential to be a lot better but it wasn't, it was super boring most of the time sure it kept me in agony and wanted to see what will happen next but at least 40 something minutes pass to show something scary only towards the end it got more intense but it had nice parts it was average overall.
A man and his pregnant wife move into a farming community to start there new life as a family but upon arrival his wife starts experiencing strange and horrifying visions.
Madres was a interesting film. I was intrigue at how the director influence came from real life facts about sterilization during the 20th century. The sound design of the film brought a eerie tone to the story which helps elevate the suspense of the film. Pacing was a bit slow then picks up when the main character uncovers the truth behind her haunted visions.
Overall the film was average, it was more of a informative film that had bits of horror to add to the interest and entertainment for the audience. Not a recommend watch but appreciated the films story.

This movie doesn't work like horror, it feels more like a thriller.
The story is slow, the plot takes time to appear, it is very boring, the plot twist does not have much impact. The only thing that stands out is the performance of Ariana Guerra, which is very convincing. The film has a bad approach to the genre to which it belongs.
They can tell that it is classified as horror to attract more people to see it, but I think it works better as a thriller, although it is boring anyway.
