I am a big Dolph Lundgren fan and I have been watching all his movies since the direct to video days where you rented them on vhs and this is by far one of the worst. The action is bland the acting from the supporting cast is terrible and wooden and there is almost no plot. It takes over half an hour for the story to pick up and any action to happen and in that time its just terribly hammy acting from the supporting cast which is almost torturous to sit through. When the action finally picks up its bland and repetitive with nothing super exciting and I barely found myself staying awake throughout this film. Dolph has limited screen time and this one is an easy skip for any fans who are looking for a unique film with fun action scenes.
An interesting premise; rich daddy rents an entire mountain resort for his daughter's wedding, terrorists show up, mayhem ensues, is pretty much wasted with bland acting (by the men), hysteria (by the women), plot holes you could drive a truck through and fight sequences which purport to have actors playing highly-trained special ops vets but there's no doubt they're actors. As for Dolph Lundgren, in his prime he could've handled the entire invading force by himself, and even at 65 he should've been able to take out at least half of them alone. One has to wonder if the "liquor" he was drinking was real.
It's a B-movie alright. Definitely NOT a Dolph Lundgren movie. He has only got a small role. NOR is it a Luke Wilson movie. Both actors (the reason I started watching) only have tiny supporting roles. And Dolph has really gotten old. He should retire...
Skip the first 45 minutes. NOTHING happens, besides 3 minutes opening fire at the very start.
The bad: lots is wrong with this movie, because it is a cheaply made B-movie, with below average technical details.
Not any good? After 45 minutes FINALLY the action starts and although it is still nothing noteworthy, it'll do for those who usually like to watch these cheap action B-movies.
And I must admit, there is a certain supsense that I kinda liked. So not all bad...

Granted, I can't really say that I was exactly harboring a whole lot of expectations to this 2023 action thriller starring Luke Wilson, Dolph Lundgren and Brendan Fehr. But still, I opted to watch it, since I had the opportunity to do so, and because I hadn't already seen the movie.
The storyline in "The Best Man" was bland and generic, so very, very generic. I am rather impressed that three writers could collectively manage to put together something so bland. Writers C. Alec Rossel, Shane Dax Taylor and Daniel Zirilli didn't impress me with this movie, and it made for a very forgettable action thriller movie experience.
The acting performances in "The Best Man" were as you would assume they would be for a movie of this type, genre and caliber. You're not in for an evening of Shakespearian theater here, that's for sure. Not that I was expecting such, anyway.
For an action thriller then "The Best Man" came and went without leaving much of a lasting impression. Sure, I managed to sit through the entire 93 minutes that director Shane Dax Taylor presented, but I was only mildly entertained. This is hardly a movie that warrants more than just a single viewing.
My rating of "The Best Man" lands on a three out of ten stars.

I'm actually only half way through, but so bored I needed something to do.
The acting isn't terrible but the writing really is.
So many eye roll moments in this movie.
So many cliched moments. "We've never had to use the panic room". Really?
The premise was really good but such a wasted opportunity.
The actors were under-utilised and not shown to their best abilities.
No humour or light moments at all. Or maybe there was and I didn't get the jokes?
There was no reprieve from the serious feeling of the movie. Either traumatic action or serious, dark moments with too much conversation but nothing really said.
This was truly terrible.
