A la mierda el 2020

2020 provided a lot of material with so much potential for comedic relief, yet there weren't that many laughs in the audience when we watched. The format was odd with all of the fake characters and it was heavily US/UK focused, with disproportionate focus on US and UK politics. Again there were some funny moments but most of the jokes just seemed to fall completely flat.

It began very well but ended being 90% about USA and the elections, not about 2020 for everyone...

Nevertheless, good dark humor and actores.

I'm surprised at how many people don't love this. My girlfriend and I found it hilarious. Hugh Grant is terrific as a pretentious academic, Lisa Kudrow is dead on on a gaslighting White House spokesman, Tracy Ullman is a fun queen. The jokes are clever and funny and the movie does a solid job of sketching out the insanity of 2020.

Ignore the naysayers, check this out. It's hilarious.

Netflix's new 'play something' algorithm put me on to this and I probably wouldn't have watched it otherwise. I laughed so hard the back of my head hurt. It was like watching a really good edition of SNL's 'Weekend Update' only difference being it's an hour long. Look, it's definitely for an 'Anglo' audience; for Christ's sake Hugh Grant and Tracey Ullman headline. The criticisms leveled in the reviews here are from people who were never going to like it anyway and at times the humor comes at you so fast it is like watching Mel Brooks' 'Blazing Saddles'. The writing is comedy at its very best BY ANYONE'S standard, sometimes in your face and at other times subtle and NO ONE is spared. Others here also panned the 'Borat' movie, tell me that wasn't funny. It is so hard to sift through so much 'content' to find something worth watching , this one goes well beyond one's expectations for a good laugh. The bad reviews, as usual , are from people who don't come at this with an honest open frame of mind, if you like the movie you'll know who they are. This movie is solid eight stars, period.

Mostly miss to be honest. Many a YouTuber did a better job at comedic commentary on and during 2020; and in a shorter runtime no less. Lacked the edge that Charlie Brooker brought to Black Mirror.
