Casa Grande is the first streaming sleeper of summer and it's a great one. I feel lucky I just happened upon this on freevee and am really surprised it isn't being promoted. It's really good, hooks you pretty quickly and takes you on a multi-layered journey through the lives of a few contemporary families in California farmland. It has a kind of Yellowstone vibe to it but if you're expecting a counterfeit copy cat of "Y" you're in for a disappointment-this one's original. Well done and very entertaining. Only complaint is that I would have liked a couple more episodes but it might not have had the same tight feel to the story. Also if you are a Scream fan I think a house in this was used in that movie. Trying to verify but I think I've seen that place before!

My brother watched the first couple episodes and thought I would like it. I, for one, resist new shows. But I had just finished rewatching The Wire and had nothing new to watch, so I tried Casa Grande.
And let me tell you... The plot and writing reminds me of Yellowstone, and Dallas haha There are true pearls of wisdom dropped at almost every episode. The characters are deeply layered and keep surprising you. They make you feel and cry and laugh. It's an emotional show, it displays the primal, the political and the existential. It's gnarly and it's beautiful. I'm in love with it, just like I was with Game of Thrones or Westworld.

This show is a must watch! It has a great ensemble cast and great acting! I was kept on the edge of my seat with the cliffhangers and ended up binging the whole thing!
Everyone should be watching this show! It is timely and hits on some important issues while also remaining entertaining. I was impressed with each characters storyline and how each character was going through something completely different. The chemistry amongst all of the characters felt genuine and I was interested the whole time. If you are a fan of Dynasty type shows you will like this show! I hope they make more episodes!!

I follow the weekly releases of new shows and a I don't really understand why no one is reviewing this show. It is actually a lot better than much of the junk out there. 9 is probably a bit inflated but I think it deserves more attention than it is getting.
The cast is great. I have no problems with the acting. The plot and writing are pretty good. I did struggle through the second episode and the annoying Boner Iver sounding soundtrack but that would probably be my only complaint. The end of that episode picked up and the rest of the show has been great
I found the show to be thoroughly entertaining and am wanting more.

Casa Grande is a solidly written drama - great characters, well-crafted - that draws it's tone from a few different modern-day masterpleces.
It has the feel and cinematography of Longmire, the plotting and grim outlook of The Sopranos, and the dramatic dynamics of shows like 'Dynasty' or any of the other network dramas similar to that.
I have watched hundreds of limited series that peter out after an episode or two, this one keeps building all the way through. Much respect must go to the show creators and the director - these guys bring it 100%.
I did not expect to get drawn into this show like I did. It's well worth your time.
