If we even think it's worth our time to invest in this "fairy tale," then we can outline the criteria by which we judge the entire thing. Here are the points: Was making a sequel really necessary? After watching it, it's clear that it wasn't. The end result is the tarnishing of the original work from the 80s. Where do we even begin? Is there anything good to consider at all? The visual effects seem like they just threw in everything they had. The editing is poorly done and the cuts are distracting. In terms of the story and its structure, it's probably just a joke. Things happen in the plot as if someone randomly decided to include them, without any real purpose. The excuse that it's a fairy tale doesn't even hold up here. The characters' motivations, if they even exist, are basic and weak. The acting performances are below average and often downright terrible and annoying. The dubbing and that sound are the epitome of how bad Slovak dubbing can be. I don't want to undermine the efforts and time of everyone involved, but wasn't there anyone who could have told the director that this is a waste? Or is there no way to reach out to people in Slovakia? The question is, how was it possible to make a film like the first part 40 years ago, without the resources ? What we are doing today? It's something to ponder, but it's unlikely the director will ever consider it.
