Inspector Koo, or A Wonderful Sight is cleverly written and fairly stylish. The performances are all good-to-excellent, especially the leads. The best Korean comedy/drama? Perhaps not, but I have never seen a show have its imdb rating score swoop about so much!
At this time of writing, 88 out of 117 viewers rating it gave it a score of 7 or higher, with the largest group by far giving it a "10". Yet it now stands at 6.6, which might put future audiences from giving the show a try. Give it a try, anyway, I say.
There are claims it is trying to be a Korean version of Killing Eve. In a way, it's closer in feel to Sherlock. Not at that level of quality, but in the sense of it using graphics and structure to tell a story about a deeply flawed detective using almost superhuman skills to track a killer of near-supervillainous talent.
Inspector Koo is a fun play on manga comic books, and has some great comic moments. I would actually rate it a 7ish but felt there should be something countering its low score.

I didn't expect much from this based on the synopsis, but I'm glad I took a punt. The supporting characterisations are really interesting, and the two leads are different and dysfunctional in quite separate ways. I'm really interested to see where they go with this and how the character arcs develop.
I'm also really interested to see how the cartoon/manga aspects are further used, as they allow you to take a step back from what is otherwise a quite blasé consideration for violence.

Interestingly the star of Lady Vengeance Lee Young-ae plays an ex police officer in pursuit of a serial killer played by Kim Hye-jun, who kills evil people. It is well acted particularly by these two ladies and parts of the story and interaction with the leads are very entertaining. Sadly the series is let down by the writers as the story takes a quirky individual in Lee Young-ae and makes her stupidly annoying. The ending is a little cobbled together and the humour within the series is mostly a miss. So disappointed as with this cast it could have been brilliant and it parts of the series it is, but then it dips to mundane.
I'm picking up some very strong 'Killing Eve' vibes. BUT only on episode 2, so just saying, wonder how they'll run with it. Some harsh critics on just exposition, come on, enjoy each quirky personality--sociopaths or genius?
***edit*** i'm on episode 3 and i just realized it's trying to be like a manga comic--makes more sense now.

I really appreciate its style but the plot was sacrificing way too much in favor of its supposed black comedy. Sure the drama had its high moments where the comedy really shined but the endless 12 episodes chase was exhausting and poorly executed. At least there's more to like about it, the drama had a good selection of soundtracks that amplified its stylistic moments. I wish this drama was a movie, it would have been a lot more fitting for what it had to offer. Anyway, the drama seems to be an accurate representation of Lee Young Ae's long hiatuses. You may give it a shot for a fresh watch...
