The film is extremely difficult to watch due to Malachi Pullar-Latchman's portrayal of D'Artagnan, a 17th-century French character, which is a glaring undeniable case of cultural appropriation. His casting undermines the movie's credibility for anyone who values cultural integrity. It would be equally inappropriate to cast an African actor as a Jewish character from Israel, a white Canadian actor as a 17th-century African king, an Australian actor as a Chinese warrior, a Japanese actor as Romeo, or a southern American to play a North Korean soldier. Anyone with a basic understanding of 17th-century France would have recognized that this casting choice was misguided. Social integrity is truly tested when people begin to feel it's acceptable to appropriate other cultures. Clearly the filmmakers and actor felt this cultural violation is socially acceptable, so why not? While some may tolerate such decisions in the short term, roles filled by cultural appropriators will eventually be regarded with the same revulsion as blackface. Poor acting, poor writing, subpar cinematography, this film is a flat out disappointing and frustrating experience. Its lack of cultural authenticity and quality makes it not worth the time.
D'Artagnan's character development was so compelling that it made the entire film hard to stomach. Watching a character who should've met an early demise, survive was painful. Knowing so many amazing films and TV shows have been carefully and lovingly created only to never make it to air, yet this did, hurt me to my very soul. It's a brain-cell drainer; better options exist.
This might be the strongest case for stronger copyright protection. Alexander Dumas created a masterpiece and it was reduced to this.
I really don't like to mock work but it just felt so pedestrian. Granted Locations, Lighting, Camera, Art, Costume, HMU, and the behind the stage did a good job making what they could from what they had.

When i saw James Cosmo was in this, i felt i had to watch it, as he's generally in decent films.
After 10 minutes i wanted to turn off.
Absolutely no offence to the actor who portrays D'artagnan, but... since when was he Black? This is an actual historical character. D'artagnan was indeed head of the King's guard (Louis XIV), and was very much a White Frenchman.
Why is it acceptable to 'race swap' one way, but frowned up, and seen as one of the worst 'hate crimes' imaginable to even think about 'race swapping' the other way? It's ridiculous.
Then we have Milady as an Asian Woman... Oh well.
So moving on from these issues, we have another problem. The acting is beyond amateurish, the script obviously doesn't help, as that itself is brutal.
I wanted to like this, as i love the story, and i love any adaptation i've seen. This is truly awful.
As others have suggested. Don't watch this, walk away, find any other adaptation to watch. This is dire.

This was the worst movie I've seen in a long while. A shockingly bad script with wooden performances for most of the cast.
The actor who played the character of D'Artagnan was simply dreadful. Like reading the script for the first time. Not that he should shoulder all the blame. It was like every one of the actors were doing this in their lunchtime.
James Cosmo should feel ashamed that he got himself involved in the abject failure. His agent should be spoken to.
In the context of all the other 'muskateer' movies, this one is easily the worst. I'm surprised they got the money to make it.
Dreadful.

Total Rubbish, the worst Musketeers Movie of ALL TIME!
It must have been given a £5 budget and that included the actors wages!
The boat scene, where it supposedly overturned was beyond ridiculous, that boat never went in the water, it wasn't deeper than a foot at it deepest! It was no more than a shallow stream!
This was the turn off point, I love movies and always look for something positive, this was very poor.
My first 1 rating.
Looking at some of the other reviews, I'm guessing this movie won't be turning up in many dvd collections, it certainly won't be showing up in mine!

¿Sabías que...?
- CuriosidadesThe final shooting script underwent substantial revisions and differs considerably from the original screenplay by Lines & Bogdanovich.
