The plot definitely thickens with this one. They could have named it better. But it is definitely fresh and new. Would recommend for sure. In current times when action, crime, thriller are the ongoing genre for web series, this one is laid back, comic, romantic and with a decent story as well. Must watch.

The story is entertaining but very unrealistic in the sense how the 80s are being setup and the fantasy that people back in the 80s talked or even thought like this. Clearly the woke global Mafia has already infiltrated and perverted Indian culture like they did around the world, but doing this to India in this way is sickening to the stomach. Actually back then people had respect for each other and India was a place where people from all over the world came in search for the meaning of being human. Now its just another pimped out culture to Hollywood perverts and CIA infiltrators which the unknowing mind sees as some type of progress, when its actually taking us back to the stone ages internally and behave like primates. So this is more a message to be vary of these woke messages, and watch them with an open mind that does not get affected by these brainwashing tools.
What a lovely watch !! And you cannot miss the one liners sprinkled throughout the series. It's amazing how nearly 3 and a half decades later so many hard hitting facts about the country remain unchanged, and yet, so much has changed !! And you cannot miss the feel good 80s. No time like the bygone one.
Based on Anuja Chauhan's bestselling novel; Those Pricey Thakur Girls, Dil Bekaraar makes for a pretty decent adaptation that is based in 80s' India.
Dil Bekaraar is the story of the five alphabetically named Thakur siblings: Anjini, Binodini, Chandra, Debjani & Eshwari. The series focuses on their lives and the ones around them.
Those Pricey Thakur Girls was an interesting read. Set in the 80s, the book features many references from the era like the Ambassador/Maruti cars, Gold Spot & Campa, DD & the after effects of the Indira Gandhi assassination. Though the series shifts the focus from the assassination to the Bhopal gas tragedy; it does not lose the essence of the source material.
The casting is top notch. Sahher Bambba plays Debjani aka Dabbu; the latest addition to the DeshDarpan (DD) news crew. She is the heart & soul of the series and her performance is outstanding. Her onscreen sisters played by Sukhmani Sadana (A), Anjali Dinesh Anand (B) & Medha Shankar (E) are perfect in their roles as well. Akshay Oberoi, Raj Babbar, Poonam Dhillon, Padmini Kolhapure, Chandrachur Singh & Apeksha Porwal co-star. But it is Padmini's character who steals the show. She has got the best dialogues in the show.
Dil Bekaraar more or less depicts the 80s accurately (which is a relief). It also features one of the best depictions of South Indians onscreen (Sonali Sachdeva). Though I was more satisfied by the assassination storyline from the book.
Dil Bekaraar is light hearted, perfectly castc hilarious (in parts) & makes for an engrossing watch. It is one of the better page to screen adaptations of recent times.
