All seems ...so familiar.

You are tempted to identify the period. But the pieces are from different times and the story itself matters more than this kind of game. Like the performance of young actress.

A ritual initiated by Church and State. A group of young people drinking poison in a ritual. Each of them dies. Except a young girl. A test ? Only in some measure because the survive is only premise to be part of the next rituals - tests.

But her, like her mother, more than the protective , helpness, intimidated by authorities, she wants and have the constience to deserve to live.

And reacts in this sense with courage inspired by youth and desperation.
