Well, here it is people, Inferno! The latest in the James Trimboli catalogue of treasures.
As we saw in his last film, being in lockdown can't stop this kid and rather than just put his feet up and gain 10 kilos like the rest of us, James has once again utilised stock footage and voice recordings alongside his own performance to give us the illusion there are more characters present within the story. Not only that, he's taken it one step further by saying "If I can't have actors in my house, I'll just play all the roles myself", and that's exactly what he's done by playing dual roles who sit side by side and actually communicate with one another. That's right, James Trimboli now lives by the Eddie Murphy philosophy!
Not only that, we're treated to a film filled with special effects... well, one special effect of fire that goes on throughout most of the runtime. Sure, the fire doesn't seem to actually burn the bush, but let's suspend our disbelief here!
There's even a sneaky little found footage scene in the film, which begs the question, would have the film benefited from being entirely found footage!? Probably. If James Trimboli's next film isn't a found footage film about aliens then it's a missed opportunity!
Strange character decisions? You betcha! Poor advice from firefighting professionals? Yes! Awkward resolution? Look no further!
This film is certainly a journey and one you must take, preferably with alcohol in hand. Hopefully for his next film we'll get to see the return of budding actors along for the ride.
