The medical/professional situations they dealt with could have made this an interesting show but it was more like some cheesy "reality" show where a bunch of horny drunk kids are having sex with anyone and everyone. Young, professional adults do not act like this in the real world. Poor acting, poor writing, overall a disappointing show to attempt to watch. It was difficult to maintain focus on any particular episode, can't imagine a situation where I would ever choose to watch this again. This show wasn't worth 600 characters but it's required so I'll fill the holes the same as the writers. Sex.. Sex.. More sex.
I think a lot of user reviewers are mocking the diverse cast. I know I'm not the target audience since I like more action and less relationship drama. True, it's a young cast and some of the acting needs more polishing and experience. The scripts seem to be improving which is good IMO. I'm at ep6 watching right now. It's interesting to me to see the indigenous culture surviving after centuries of colonization. I'm hoping the season finale is as good.
There is an Australian series called Royal Flying Doctor Service. Same premises, but the Australian is so much better. If I were you I'd skip this one and watch Royal Flying Doctor Service instead.
I went into watching this fully expecting things would be woefully inaccurate (Same with arctic air but I still enjoyed that), and I was not disproved. Anyone in the aviation or medical community can point out numerous things in the trailer alone. SOPs on the aviation side are definitely off and the medic side are definitely not right either.
That being said, if I just laugh at those things and ignore some of the forced relationships then I actually enjoy the show for the friendships, amusement, and character development.

I really like the setting of this show, a primarily indigenous presumably far-north area in Canada. I like that the characters are a range of personalities, backgrounds, and histories. There are characters who are people of color, who are gay, who are Black, who are white, who are indigenous. I'm sorry for the people here who find that mix too "woke", and not white enough for them. I think it adds a great deal to the show.
I don't particularly care, though, for the fact that the characters often don't have each other's backs, and do a lot of sniping at each other.
Other reviews have mentioned glaring inaccuracies in the medical pieces of the plot line, which I have no expertise to address, but it's something to be aware of if you watch this series.
There are also disconnections in the plots. Something will happen in the opening of an episode that clearly needs medical attention, then they cut to the opening credits and the incident is never mentioned again. Weird. The plots are primarily about the budding relationships among the various characters.
Lastly, a number of reviews compare this show to the Australian version - I agree that overall that show is better done.
