Resumen
Reviewers say 'X-Men '97' is celebrated for its nostalgic continuation, improved animation, and mature themes. The return of original voice actors and compelling storytelling are highlighted. Character development and balancing nostalgia with modern elements are praised. However, pacing, voice acting, and certain storylines receive criticism. Some feel the series is rushed and could explore character arcs deeper. Animation style opinions are mixed, with some finding it uninspired. Despite these issues, 'X-Men '97' is generally seen as a successful revival.

I know it's only been 2 episodes and a 10/10 may be ambitious but I can't express how satisfied I am with this!
Recently, us nerds have had our hopes built up by reboots and live-action remakes that left us feeling betrayed and disappointed. Finally, X-Men 97 delivers!
I'm so happy they kept this kid friendly so my generation can enjoy it with our kids.
So far, the show is exactly like you remember it from your Saturday mornings. Nostalgia ensued within the first second.
I can't wait to see what this show brings us. My only complaint is that they didn't release the entire series immediately but I don't think Disney+ does that.
Thank you Chris Claremont! Well done Disney!

Had decent expectations as the original series is a classic (for me). This is a continuation but doesn't suffer from any particular issues usually seen when a production is revived after a long time. If anything, this revival exudes welcome nostalgia while fusing modern touches. Animation is solid and the action pieces are the highlights. Voice acting is just as awesome as it used to be (no irritating voice characterizations). Not to spoil anything but the characters are, as always, as real as could be to the original print comics. Am stoked and hope this series goes on for as long as it can. 9/10 from me for episode 1. Vinaka from Fiji.

With only 5 episodes having aired so far, I'm already having trouble thinking of another show that rivals this quality lately. And I'm not exclusively talking about in animation either.
The animation is stunning. The characters are maybe even more endearing than ever. And the story is so incredibly meaningful and masterfully explored that I was engaged to the point of audible gasping, chills, and even tears at times.
I personally watch a lot of shows, animated and non. Disney has done plenty of fantastic shows, from Gargoyles to Gravity Falls. Yet I was still surprised by this revival existing at all, and blown away by its handling.

A perfect blend of nostalgia and a freshness. I can't wait for more episodes and the story lines to be extended. I love the similarities of the 90s series and the new version. Many of the actors have been signed on for the series which is a great for continuity. I love that costumes, characters and stories have been updates for a more current experience. This new series is definitely worth a watch for fans of the original series as well as new fans. So far, the characters appear to have more thought out personalities, values and powers which is really cool to watch. I'm really keen to see how they integrate more characters into the cast.
This is the impression I got from just two episodes. This series deals with classic X-Men themes like prejudice, discrimination, hate, injustice, fear, and bigotry against mutants by humans again, but I felt like they were doing it in a more mature and improved way. I also gladly notice they didn't make a Wolverine show, and every mutant character is getting equal screen time and development, especially Cyclops getting what he deserves and shining as team leader. It's also welcome to see characters like Bishop and Morph join the X team. I liked Magneto's acceptance of Xaviers's human and mutant coexistence agenda and his decision to become a new leader of the X team because that made him a more three-dimensional and ambigious character rather than a one-note villain. This sequel is also very loyal and respectful to the old series and the nostalgic feelings of X-men fans. They are using the same character models, voiceovers, opening intro, closing outro, and music with improved and modernized animation. They didn't use the same opening stock footage intro from the first episode for the second episode's opening intro, adding new characters like Magneto and scenes to it, so obviously there is no laziness in this show. Overall, I got a very good impression from this reboot and sequel, and I'm looking forward to watching new episodes.
¿Sabías que...?
- CuriosidadesKevin Feige had only two conditions for the show.
- 1.) The original X-Men (1992) voice-cast had to return.
- 2.) The rights for the theme tune of X-Men (1992) had to be obtained.
- PifiasThe name of the series contains a typo (purposefully or otherwise): what should be an apostrophe is, instead, a single open-quotation mark. The font makes the distinction somewhat subtle on the main title screen, though the error is very clear in the end credits, which use a different font.
The typo may be purposeful on the part of the showrunners, to reflect this common autocorrect error in the 1990s, wherein word processors would see the punctuation following a space and assume it meant the beginning of a quotation within a quotation. (It would be not surprising if the typo were purposeful, given the show's theme of Man vs. Machine. Additionally, while the same "autocorrect fail" is still common to this day, there may be a nostalgic quality crafted by intentionally committing the error here.)
It is noteworthy that some streaming interfaces correct some instances of the typo. For example, on some applications that run Disney+, pausing the show presently shows the apostrophe right-side-up.
