Johnnie & Glyde

I'm usually all about the romance when it comes to Nollywood movies, but this storyline kept me interested. Maurice Sam as Johnnie and Scarlet Gomez as Glyde both play full-time con artists. Johnnie's hustle mainly involves scoring credit card info over the phone by pretending to call from financial institutions. Meanwhile, Glyde's role in their schemes is to flirt with men, leading them into compromising situations for future blackmail.

What I found really interesting was how they framed their dodgy work in business jargon. Johnnie casually asking Glyde about the "format" for bilking money or Glyde calling one of their targets "her client" was an interesting twist in their shenanigans.

What makes this movie compelling is the growth Glyde experiences throughout the storyline. At one point Johnnie tries to pressure her into an intimate situation with one of their marks. This serves as a turning point for Glyde. We see her evolve, realizing she deserves better than this dodgy world she's gotten herself into.
